When creating an online profile, you only need to provide information and you will automatically obtain Canada Express Entry points through the Comprehensive Ranking System or CRS. As an individual who plans to immigrate to Canada, this term may not be new to you.

The maximum Canada Express Entry points for the first two factors are 500. If you are married or you have a common-law partner but will not be coming with you to Canada, or your spouse or common-law partner is a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident, you will earn points as if you have no partner or spouse. But if your spouse or partner will come with you to Canada, you can obtain 460 points for your credentials and 40 points from your husband or partner’s credentials.

Your responses to the following factors can make – or break – your dream of moving to Canada:

- Work experience (occupation, number of years worked, location)
- Level of education
- Skills
- Language ability

If you are a skilled worker, your Canada Express Entry points decrease as you age. But you still have hopes as you can try to claim more points from your language and education. Do you need to improve your score? There are ways you can earn extra points:
- 15 points if you have a brother or a sister who is already a citizen or permanent resident of Canada
- 30 points if you are proficient in the French language
- 30 points if you obtain a post-secondary education in Canada
- 200 points if you already found an employer who will give you a job offer
- 600 points if you have a provincial nomination
